Exclusive: Robert Pattinson Cleans Up in 'Remember Me' Shower Scene

It's been a long time since we've taken angry young men seriously in the movies.

The formula for coming-of-age films these days is that a) they feature dorky guys getting beautiful girls, and b) they include a cast that's somehow related to the 'Freaks and Geeks' world of Judd Apatow (see 'Adventureland', 'Knocked Up', anything with Michael Cera). Whatever happened to the young, brooding rebel? The dangerous guy girls' parents like to hate?

Well, in the upcoming 'Remember Me', Robert Pattinson is bringing that guy back.

The trailer introduced us to Pattinson's Tyler, the petulant, drifter son of a wealthy NYC businessman (Pierce Brosnan), who's proudly "undecided about everything." He spends his days quoting Gandhi, auditing university classes and working at a bookstore, and his nights wooing women with what his best friend calls "freaky, poetic crap."

But after a street fight leads to a bit of police brutality (courtesy of Chris Cooper), Tyler sets out to find and sidle up to the cop's daughter (Emilie de Ravin) in hopes of revenge, but finds himself a little closer to her than he anticipated.

In this clip from 'Remember Me', Tyler and de Ravin's Ally spend some, hostile awkward moments in a dimly lit apartment kitchen before Pattinson breaks the tension by hitting Ally with a burst of water from the sink nozzle, a little flirtatious levity.

Ally is unamused, deadpanning: "So this is the whole playful, you-get-me-all-wet part?" and rebuts the cliche by dumping a pot of pasta on him without a hint of remorse.

But in moments Tyler drags her down the hall, into the bathroom, where the two wrestle playfully over the shower nozzle, moving ever closer.

Maybe the angry young man still has some life left in him after all.

'Remember Me' hits theaters on March 12.
