After five nominations and career that has spanned over 40 years, Jeff Bridges, 60, finally took home his first Academy Award for his critically acclaimed performance in 'Crazy Heart.'Bridges appeared overjoyed as he accepted his award, and took time to thank the Academy, his parents and his wife of over 30 years, Susan Geston.
"Thank you, mom and dad, for turning me on to such a groovy profession," he said with a laugh.
"This is honoring them as much as it is me," he added.
Bridges was previously nominated for 'The Last Picture Show,' 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,' 'Starman' and 'The Contender.'

I loved that Jeff won (although I would've been okay if Colin had won), but, I REALLY wish he would've honored the men in his catagory, but he said ZERO about his fellow nominees, so I was disappointed with that, but not with his win!

I think I know what you mean when you said what you said, but even if you meant to say something else I think I got what you thought you meant to mean or what you wanted to say, sort of thing !!!

I agree with Ashley it would have been appropriate for Jeff to have mentioned his fellow nominees, and like her I'd have liked Colin Firth to have won. However Jeff deserves the oscar for his numerous performances over the years and maybe he was a bit overcome with the occasion. It was nice he mentioned his wife Sue,I think that's very important!
