See the movies destroy New York over and over (and over) again
Helmed by 'Pretty Woman' director Garry Marshall, 'Valentine's Day' (in theaters Feb. 12) boasts a cast so large, saying it has "starpower" is an understatement. Featuring Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, and more (many more), 'V-Day' follows multiple characters who make and break relationships leading up to the most hated/loved made-up holiday of the year.
Based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks ('The Notebook' may ring a bell), 'Dear John' (in theaters Feb. 5) follows a passionate love story between John Tyree (Channing Tatum) and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried).
'When in Rome' (starring Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel) reminds us there are no shortcuts when it comes to finding true love. Beth (Bell) is a beautiful, young New Yorker with a great career but horrible luck when it comes to romance. That is, until she travels to Rome where she finds a fountain of love that changes everything.
Talk about revamping a classic. If you've seen the trailers for Guy Ritchie's highly-anticipated adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes' (opening December 25), you know exactly what we're talking about. They practically explode in your face with awesome special effects, high-adrenaline fight sequences and enough wit to assure us that laughs are included in the spectacle. And with Ritchie at the helm, we're confident the final product won't disappoint.
Peter Jackson's 'Lovely Bones,' which opens December 11, is based on the best selling novel by Alice Sebold and follows the tragic tale of Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan), a young woman brutally raped and murdered by a neighbor. Caught in a heaven-like medium, Susie watches over as her grieving family -- including her father (Mark Wahlberg), mother (Rachel Weisz) and grandmother (Susan Sarandon) -- struggles to move past her demise, and her killer aims to murder again.
With all the hoopla surrounding the 'Sex and the City' sequel, we're really excited to ask: 'Did You Hear About the Morgans?' It's the hilarious romantic comedy (opening December 18) starring Sarah Jessica Parker opposite the always dreamy Hugh Grant. That's right, SJP does, from time to time, venture beyond the world of stilettos and x-rated lunch convos. And if this turn is anything like her Golden Globe-nominated role in 'The Family Stone,' we're in for a treat
